Just passed my TN Carry permit Class with my Shield, here's my qualified Silhouette
As many members on this Forum have recommended, I did go to an indoor gun range and I rented different calibers to see which one was best for me for my first pistol. Wanting a 9mm I read tons of reviews as well as a gun that was easy to conceal. Having searched for a few months I finally was able to purchase an S&W Shield 9mm so my next step was to take a TN Carry permit Class. Having only fired a Browning Buck Mark 22 pistol, I felt a little nervous about how I'd do in this Concealed Carry Class. Once I bought this gun, I went to the indoor shooting range a couple times to get familiar with my new gun. As long as I pull the trigger slowly, the gun is very accurate especially given that it's a compact. I gotta tell you how much of a fan I am of S&W 9mm Shield. Now that I have a S&W Shield, I now see why they are so popular and why S&W is having such a hard time keeping up with demand. They scored a home run as far as I'm concerned.
Here's the silhouette I qualified with at my TN Carry Permit class.
15 shots at 3yards,
20 shots at 7 yards
10 shots at 15 yards.
Good shooting & congratulations on passing your CCW class! Everything that I've heard about the Shield has been positive. At this time I'm negotiating for a Glock 23, a gun I'm familiar with as I qualified for my Armed Security license with it some years ago. I gave my duty G23 to my son before WI had a concealed carry law. Now I regret that. If that deal falls through I'm sincerely thinking of getting a Shield in .40 cal.
