That's interesting. So is the unrestricted more expensive I assume?

Makarov with fixed sights 9x18 one of my easy to access home defense guns. Didn't have my G-19 yet.
Qualified with my XD9sc because I'm accurate with it and it has never failed me. I carry it daily and love it. However, I do plan on supplementing my carry options with a hammer fired something...either .357 or .45.

My state doesn't require a CHL course before issuing a CCW permit. However, you can get an enhanced "Instructor Certified" CCW permit in my state after taking an approved NRA course from an approved instructor, which I did.
When I took the NRA Basic Pistol course, I wasn't carrying yet. I shot the instructor's S & W 686 and 640, and Glock 19, during range exercises. I now have a 640 of my own that I carry and really like.
When I took the NRA PPIT (Personal Protection in the Home), I used my carry gun (Sig P238). Shot over 200 rounds through it on the second day and could easily have gone several hundred more if it hadn't started raining. Shootability and concealability are the reasons I love this gun, even though the caliber (.380) is a bit anemic. I still carry it and doubt I'll ever get rid of it. I like it too much.![]()

What gun did you take the CHL course with?
M&P 9c
1. Why? To qualify for derringer, revolver and semi automatic you had to shoot with a semi, plus that's all I had at the time.
2. Do you still have it/use it for CC? Still use it for range and home defense, my cc gun is S&W BG380 because of ease to conceal, M&P 9c is too wide, uncomfortable. M&P Shield is what I plan to carry when I can find one, like looking for hen's teeth, it's physical size is between the BG380 and M&P 9c.

I got my concealed carry permit in ~ 1995 or 1996.
I used a Colt Mustang Pocketlite.
I took that specific pistol to the training because I was arrogant (still am) and knew I could easily pass with a pocket pistol.
I do not still have that pistol, I sold it just prior to Colt reintroducing the Mustang line while the value was still high.
I never carried it anyway, it had long ago been replaced by a Kel-Tec P3AT for pocket duty.
No internal lock or magazine disconnect on my pistols!
S&WM&P9, I took it because of the fit and I could put multiple hits on target relatively fast. It was my carry weapon for about 6 months until I obtained my S&WM&P357Sig.
I had to think about this one. I think it was a SIG P6 9mm. Still have it still carry it on occasion.
Arkansas used to have the revolver and semi auto distinction I don't think they do anymore, not sure.
We paid the same price for the permit either way. I remember when they first came out it listed the SN of the guns you would be carrying, a max of three on the card, and every time you bought a new carry gun you had to pay $15 bucks and have the card changed. This did not last long it was simply to much paperwork for the state. It did generate a lot of revenue though but even they said it was not worth it.

I used a Bersa Thunder 380 since I have been using it for over a year and I feel comfortable firing it. Plus I can hit whatever i aim at with it. Yes I do carry my Bersa Thunder 380.
P.S. I may be the only person at this site that likes and carry's a Bersa.
