We don't have to qualify on a firearm for a CCL in WI but I used an issued Glock 22 for my Armed Security license about 11 years ago. Carried my personal G23 on duty.

    G21.

Why - I had recently purchased it and needed to break it in. Since we had to bring 200 rounds to class, I figured I would kill 2 birds with one stone.

Do I still have it & carry it - yes and yes; however, it is not my EDC but normally pulls HD duty. It is currently on vacation at the BTC spa for guns getting a RDS.

The class I went to had Ruger Mark II's for us to use. Must be a popular gun because I checked around, in another area, for a friend to take his class and all 5 places I found provided a Ruger Mark II lol. I like the gun so much went and bought myself one to plink with at the range.

I carry a Ruger sr9c. Have been thinking about getting a Glock 19.

Used my M&P 40 full size because it shoots great. Waiting for my CC license but will carry my PF9 when my license arrives.

    This.

Only handgun I had at the time. It will soon be 60 years old, although in great shape. I just look at it every once in a while.

In my state, OREGON, we don't have a gun when taking our class. Our instructors did have us do a little gun safety exercise where we were to handle both a pistol and revolver which they provided and put snap caps in and "fire" while doing everything in a safe manner (muzzle always pointed in a safe direction, finger off the trigger until ready to fire, etc.). And I just applied for my CPL (concealed pistol license) in Washington state as I go into Washington fairly frequently. They didn't even require a class at all. Just fill out the paperwork, pay your fees, get fingerprinted, and wait for them to send it to you.

The gun I planned to carry - Glock 30 SF 3rd Gen

    1. Because I wanted to qualify with the gun I planned to carry.

    2. Yes, I plan to always carry this gun.

In Ohio, you don't have to qualify. As I was brand new to handguns, I used a couple of guns provided by the class. Both were Walther PPK clones, a Sig Sauer P232 and a Beretta.

    1. I chose to try them due to their small size, the way they fit in my hand and I liked the smooth curvy style. They were both chambered in .380.
    2. No. I ended up buying bigger pistols chambered in 9mm. I learned that the small, lightweight PPK clone pistols did't absorb recoil that well.

I used my Colt Combat Goverment model .45acp.

Why? Because I wanted to use a real fight'en pistol !

Still carry it? Yep, from time to time, I have a several full size pistols I rotate (hard for me to pin down a favorite).

Ruger KP90DC and my MKIII Target Model. I was pretty broke at the time and couldn't afford enough 45ACP so I split my qualifying between my P90 and my MKIII.
