In MO we have to shoot a pistol and a revolver. I used a Kahr PM 40, because that was what I intended to carry, and a S&W "Victory", because I could.
My trusty old Sig P-220
Donp
Sig P-220
CZ-75
WaltherP-1
We had to fire 50 rounds with a semi and a revolver. No specific breakdown on rounds per weapon. Fired 9 rounds from a G26 and 41 rounds from an old H&R Sportsman. Just cheaper to shoot the .22.
The training course had 2 guns: a .38 full size revolver, and a full size 9 MM. Taught the safety of both, and all got to shoot both. Had to use their guns.
Walther P99 .40 Cal.
Shot 248 out of 250 points because I rushed one of the 15 yard shots when the two guys with hand cannons (.44 and .357 mag) on either side of me popped of at basically the same time. And to my embarrassment, I instinctively pulled the trigger as the front sight came up on the target. Eight ring - just slightly right of top dead center. I'm not telling this to brag, but to tell you that both my wife and my sister shot a perfect 250 and I have to live with the shame of it.....(or at least keep getting reminded of it and hear them laugh at the retelling).
Oh, and I asked the guy with the 44 Desert Eagle why he was qualifying with it and he smiled and said because he could.
Sig P238 for the course. It's my occasional sunday carry now. EDC is Glock 27
I took my test with a stick shift so I'd have driving privileges with both automatic & manual transmission cars. OOOPs! Wrong forum, lol.

One weapon is required BUT my instructor REQUESTED us to qualify with both,
a revolver & a semi ,,,,, I used Glock 22 40 cal & a S&W 10 4 inch 38 spl.
Still have both.

CZ75 compact 9mm because it is th softest shooting, most accurate, reliable carry pistol I've ever shot. It shoots better than many (most?) full size duty pistols. Also, if I had to blow 50rds with no real training value, I figured I'd use the cheapest ammo I have (except .22)
Yes, I still carry it because it is such a fantastic shooter. My EDC is my PPS, but the CZ is a very practical carry piece as well.
+1 - Mine's on my hip right now - Here was my qualifier (15, 21 and 45 feet; mostly 2-handed but 5 rounds at the 15' and 21' distances were one-handed)

I suggest that everyone try to take the gun they are going to carry. In Oklahoma if you take the course with a derringer that is all you can ever carry. If you take it with a revolver you may carry either a derringer or revolver. If you take it with a semiautomatic you can carry any of the three. I would, however, advise that you do not buy a gun for the course. With a good instructor, you may have a different idea as to what you want to carry after the course than you did before. Most places have guns you can rent or borrow, this could keep you from making a $400 or $500 mistake.
686 4" State Police Academy civilian program 1991
Took a Sig P229 and a Smith & Wesson Model 29
The 229 was the only semi-auto I owned and the 29 was the only revolver available at the time.
I still own the 229 and the 29 belonged to my wife's uncle. HE loaned it to me knowing that for Missouri CCW you needed to demonstrate proficiency with both platforms and I only had the semi-auto.
The instructor only let me fire 8 shots with the 29 before he said "If you can shoot that gun like that you are proficient. Save my backstop and have a seat."
