Kimber Custom II because I shoot it very well. I don't carry it as much as I would like because I have to disarm so many places by law. It is easier to disarm a pocket carried weapon.

I used a Sig P-232 to take the course because at the time that was the gun that I intended to carry and I shot well with it. I actually used a range rental rather than my own gun. I thought if there was a malfunction with either the gun or the ammo, I could just swap with them rather than taking the time to try and fix it myself. There weren't any problems. The gun and ammo both performed flawlessly.

Full size Kimber 1911, same gun I carry daily unless it is summer and I'm wearing shorts and a T or Tanktop. Have in at 1530, strongside, as I type this.

    I almsot hate to admit it, I used a full-size S&W M&P22.
    1. Why?

2.5" groups of 5 shots in less than 3 seconds, "threat focused."

A lot of people can probably do that with anything - I can't.

    2. Do you still have it/use it for CC?
Have it? Yes. Use it for CC? Not necessarily, but I would... If I'm feeling "22" I have a Ruger SR22 which is much more comfy IWB. And the EDC is its big brother, the SR9c.

That said - If the SHTF, I'd want it around.

I used my Beretta .40 cal 96D, because at the time it was my best shooting semi-auto, and absolutely reliable. I still have it but have never carried it. Shortly after I got my permit, I got an XDm9 compact which I carry most of the time. At this point, any future classes I take will be with the XDm.

I used a Taurus PT .22 - it was the only one I owned at the time. When I was first gun shopping as a newbie for some reason I loved that little pop up barrel, even though the guy at the store tried hard to talk me out of it. I don't carry it anymore, moved on to a bigger carry gun, but I still have and love that little pop up.

Firing test not required in Wisconsin for the CCW license. However, the NRA First Steps Pistol course I took satisfied the firearm safety training requirement. Used the first and only pistol I owned: my Sig P238. Don't have it anymore. I traded it in toward a pocket cannon: my awesome, new XD-s.

    test Gun

I took the test with my H&K USP 45, which I still have. Now my edc gun is an XDs, because it's a little bit lighter.

Springfield 1911-A1, because I shot it well, and already had carried it lots (the previous state didn't require a shooting skill test), and I thought qualifying with my .22 pistol would be, well, cheating.

I qualified with my wife's Beretta Neos .22. It was the only handgun we had at the time as I had a 3 month wait before getting my SC CWP in the mail. (plenty of time for pistol shopping) I did indeed feel as if I was cheating but ate out the inside ring of my target!

Hearing about all these people having to qualify with the largest caliber that they intend to carry and also being able to qualify with a 22 is odd to me. In tx you can carry any caliber but you have to qualify with .32 or larger. The two classes are semi auto and revolver. If you shoot with a semi then you can carry either one. Shoot a revolver and you are a wheel gunner.
