Any stories of awkward CC moments?

Like you reach for your wallet forgetting you're CCing and you flash your firearm to unsuspecting people that get scared?

Or maybe you have a shoulder holster under your jacket and are in a situation where you look weird for not taking your jacket off.

Or, any REALLY BAD ones, like your firearm being DROPPED?!

Curious to see what stories people have. I'm thankful to say none for me.

Well my dad was tellin me about how his co worker just got his ccw. He didn't have a holster just stuck it in his boot. One day at Walmart just walking along and the gun slipped out and fell on the floor in front of him. Ur started to panic not wanting anyone to see so he quickly steps forward reaching for it and ended up kicking it down the entire isle. Nothin like a grown man springing down a store isle affter a gun lol.

Thankfully, there's none for me to be able to report first hand or otherwise.

Tasuki that one's pretty funny.. until you think about the many things could of went wrong during it.

Was carrying a P-32 in a cheap Uncle Mike’s IWB and did not have it properly clipped. Gun and holster popped out and landed on floor, quickly scooped it up before anyone realized what it was. No longer have any Uncle Mike’s products.

I have an old Uncle Mike's pocket holster that was given to me. The only time I use it is around the house, for my Taurus M85. I'll admit it does it's job here, but I wouldn't take it outside my property lines.

I used to carry OWB and found it to be "socially uncomfortable" meaning I was always self-conscious of showing or printing. I also have an uncle mikes but didn't feel it was sufficiently secure. I got a nice IWB from Crossbread (the supertuck) and am much more comfortable with that. No...this isn't an ad, I have no personal or financial interest there, but do recommend it.

Wasn't embarrassing..... but a woman who gave me a hug, and felt the gun.... so then she starts feeling to be sure what she thought she ran into.... and asked me if that was what she thought it was. I said, it probably is. She just smiled ... and said " I like that, now I feel protected too".

Oh yes, but I'm too embarrassed to tell the story.

One cold spring morning on my motorcycle I stopped at a " stop and rob " gas station that is a popular meeting place for bikers. I thought I would be cool to do a tight u turn in a parking space. Being cold and stupid I grabed the front brake. I could not hold the 900+ pound up. Bike went down and I was thrown off. Being embarrased I tried to right the bike to no avail. A crowd of bikers came over to help. When I bent down to help my CW 40 fell out of my vest much to the amusement of them and my embarrasment. CO bikers don't care if your armed.

    Several...

1} Indiana issues at age 18, I was 19 and a friend had gotten into driving open wheel dirt race cars, we were headed to a track a long way out of town. My mom and dad wanted to drive down and watch so they had a road map spread out on the family room floor (I was living at home going to college) and wanted me to show then the route we always took.

We had waist length team jackets and I had my S&W 66 in a Safariland vertical shoulder holster with the bottom couple inches of the jacket zipped. As I was leaning over the map I felt the 66 come out of the holster and start sliding down the inside of the jacket. Well it plopped down right in the middle of the map (polished to a mirror like finish with zebra wood combat grips), right under my parents noses; needless to say I didn't have to figure the time and how to tell them I had my CCW.

2}I was sitting at my favorite ***** bar at the main stage (for you tea teetotalers, legal in Indiana and I had 1 beer to 3 O'Doul's) and was about to leave when some buddies came in, so I slipped my custom 1911 (buff finished stainless frame, royal blue slide) in the inside pocket of my suit coat and hung it over the back of my chair. A few minutes later a biker (Harley drive chain belt, large knife hanging from it, leather fingerless gloves with pyrimid studs on the knuckles, leather vest, harley bandana on his head etc.) came in at sat at the bar about 10 feet away and commenced to staring at me like he wanted to take me out back and kick my @,

Well when I got ready to leave I grabbed my suit coat by the collar and headed around the stage to leave, only the coat had slid heavy side down so I actually had it by the shoulder opposite the gun, and as I rounded the stage I hear this "THUD-sliiiide" as the gun fell out and slid right between the bikers boots. I just picked it up, dusted it off and put it back in the holster, looked the biker in the eye and said "Sorry, I hate when that happens". He just sat there, mug frozen half way to his mouth while his head moved to follow every move I made.

The dancer on stage was one of my favorites and she was doubled over laughing and pointing, the bar tender (I found out the next night) had been watching the biker for trouble, figured what happened and was laughing, everyone in the bar was looking at me and as I went out the door the doorman/bouncer said "Better be careful, that thing lands on your toe it's gonna hurt".

3} Wife and I were walking through the lobby of a hotel to check in when the magazine floor plate on my G19 failed and the spring and floor plate scooted across the floor and 9mm rounds start falling out and bouncing around the floor. Luckily the desk clerk was the only one around and he was carrying too, he just said "I've never seen that happen before".

I had the same thing happen to me when I didn't have the holster properly clipped. P238 on the floor entering a 7-11 store. I learned a lot from that and it has never happened since...I'm still using the same holster.
