I've bought 2 other handguns in the past 2 years and have acquired ccl permits in Washington, Oregon , and Utah.
So how exactly would I get denied to buy a handgun?
Any ideas?

Common surname?
Same name as a felon who's been entered into the system since your last purchase?
Lots of possibilities, you need to raise a challenge and find out why.

Did you get (denied) OR did you get (delayed) I get delayed every time, my CCL is no help in that regard. After a few days I get my proceed, it's a pain in the rear but until I get my U-pin there is nothing I can do about it ..... Washington seems to be getting tougher.

They didn't give you a reason?
I don't always have nothing to say, but when I do, I post it on Facebook.
Do you use your SSN when you fill out the paperwork? In between CPL renewal/expiration - bought a gun. No delays - took 2 days. After I got my CPL - bought a gun. Walked out with it in less than 20 minutes total. This was all in the past few months.

Just remember they are getting swamped with new purchase forms recently for some strange reason. Seems to be a rash of folks getting denied even after a history of no issues. Follow the steps to appeal and you should get things straightened out.

I have to appeal now! If not, In subsequent purchases I have to answer "yes" to ever been denied a firearm purchase .
I had a c class felony for eluding police when I was 19, but years ago I had it vacated off my record.
If that was still detectable, how was I able to attain other weapons and 3 cpl in 3 states.
I'll appeal this next week and see what happens, as of now my Kimber solo and my money is still at the lgs!!
Ah.. and there's the rub.
Good luck on your appeal, let us know how it goes.
GO STEELERS!
It will definitely be because of the felony.......good luck!

Sounds like you've got it figured out. The appeal process should make it right.
Not weird at all.
Here is my story if you are interested concerning my denial, appeal and eventual victory.
CCP Denied? Don't Give Up
I highly suggest a attorney if that is a option for you.
Get ready for a long and stressful time.
Since WA is a "shall issue" state that (hopefully) prevents arbitrary and biased decisions, you should get your license following the appeal.
Don't delay in filing your intention, and send it certified mail.

I've been denied before even though nothing in my life had changed since the previous firearm purchase. I think it just happens randomly sometimes. Like grandmas finding themselves on the TSA's extra screening list or even the no fly list.
It's not that weird. It's all about paperwork and low paid buffoons.
When CC started here it was a wake up call a few found out someone else was using their ID .
