too much power given to the instructor can lead to discrimination. Responsibility is subjective and will vary person to person. I know some adults that certainly don't fit the epitomy of responsibility, some are child-like and careless around everyday tools. I certainly wouldn't recommend a permit nor a drivers license. Some people just don't know enough or have been sheltered most of their life to know the realities of society.

No, I dont think 21 is too young. If I were a bettin' man, I'd be willing to bet my next paycheck that most of the guys and gals that you should worry about wont bother with getting a permit.

Same in NC, but I cheated. I took my road test in a '75 CJ5. They're only about 12 feet long

Personally I'm in the boat with the 21 is too old crowd. I believe if you have the ability to defend our country or be sentenced to death you should be able to carry. So here's how you weed out the idiot kids who can't handle a ccw yet. Hold the class at 5:30 AM, most of them will still be hung over, or not even know that there were more than one 5:30 in a day. Then up the price a little bit. I'm not so in favor here but it will discourage a lot of kids because it will cut into their parents allowance which is there beer fund and we all know they won't cut into that beer fund. That's all I could come up with.

Was that way in WV until just a couple years ago and they raised the CCW age to 21 Know several who had them and were grandfathered when it changed.

21 is not too young, not sure if 18 is too young or not. Tough question.
