At last, some sense in a school setting!
~~~~~
The only common sense gun legislation was written about 224 years ago.
I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.
Just last week i mistakenly told a student that he couldn't do some extra activity because he wasn't a senior.. He actually is a senior and i had mixed him up with another student. Anyway, he said something along the lines **** you or **** off and i piped up and told him he better watch his mouth etc. And i heard him say "are you checking me?" lol, needless to say he's known to hang around a rough crowd but there comes a time when you must engage them and remind them who's running the show :)
What this student needed was a crushed nose and expelled for the remainder of the year with no action taken against the teacher. This is what's wrong with this country now, the kids telling the adults what they are or aren't going to do. There is too much red tape in handling kids nowadays in the way they should be handled. Just my two cents...right or wrong.
Yes there is a lot of red tape. There's been times when i wish i could grab a few up but for the most part the kids in our program (welding/machining) are pretty decent kids. But, of course there's always the ones who fight you every step of the way and who think they make the rules.
I understand kids are going to be dropping the F bomb here and there, heck i do it my share, too. But when it's directed solely at me in an aggressive manner then there's going to be problems.
Thank you. My fellow instructor and i try to keep the program as lenient and as fun as humanly possible. We're teaching them a trade in which they can possibly make big money but most still don't have much more than a passing interest. Most will probably regret once they find Mcd's isn't much fun and doesn't pay so well...
I applaud this school superintendent who has 'big ones'...
"That I cannot do."
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."
That school is doing it the way it should be done. The liberals will say the police will protect you, but they can only try to protect you if you are still alive after it is all over. otherwise they just have more reports to write.
Well done, we can only hope that more common sense kicks in to protect these children..
