Oh, that poor Mrs. Dukalmighty. I've got one just like you at home. BigPapa just blames the dog that we don't have.

MamaMaria, I chose an XD over a Glock for reason #1 as well. I like that grip safety, especially when holstering and I can disengage that while pushing the pistol into my holster.

Huh? You like the grip safety, and the fact it's disengaged while holstering the pistol? That makes the grip safety a moot feature at that point.

I shoot with a pistol and a Canon. We must all hang together amigos, or we will all hang separately. NRA life member.

    I was unclear (my bad)...

I start the pistol into the holster, and push down on the back of the slide rather than using a firing grip. By doing this, the grip safety is engaged (I see now my poor choice of words above) and the pistol won't fire even if the trigger snags something while being holstered.

Yep, I holster the same way. I like the striker status indicator on the back as well. My thumb feels it as I'm holstering. Tactile and visual feedback of the safe condition of my holstered gun is reassuring.

Is there any way to double-like a post?!

The only common sense gun legislation was written about 224 years ago.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.
