    Oblivious

Wanted to share a story of how oblivious people can really be to you carrying a firearm.

I got into my car with 3 people today after being not able to carry. I reached across the girl in the passenger seat and grabbed my safe from the glove box, put in my combo and set it on the floor. I then opened the safe and grabbed my glock, leaned over and holstered it. Looked around at my passengers and everybody was in their own little world, care free as can be.

It blew my mind and made me as a new carrier realize that especially when im concealed, people are very unlikely to notice.

Just wanted to share! Enjoy your weekend everybody and stay safe.

You will find most people go through life with such tunnel vision that unless something bumps them right on the nose they will never notice it.

Especially now versus 10 years ago. Everyone has their head down in their smartphone or tablet.

I can tell that those people are not into situational awareness. There's a name for them - victims.

Most people wouldn't have a clue, even if you text it to them.

Hey OP, if you are going to tell stories on this forum at least mention something about guns.

It isn't that they didn't notice, it's that the gun was a Glock. They're so common they don't even get a mention anymore. If you'd pulled out a Luger or something equally obscure they'd still be talking about it.

Heck with the gun, I want to know what car has a glove box big enough to hold a safe any more!

The only common sense gun legislation was written about 224 years ago.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.

Other thing I couldn't (heck, still can't) believe is how many people walk around with ear buds in or headphones on. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to enjoy some music while on a long-ish walk, but to be completely deafened and unaware of your surroundings blows my mind.
