So good to hear, indeed. And these background checks are for handguns only (WI uses NICS for long guns only, WI hotline for handguns only). It looks like more Wisconsinites are taking responsibility for their own personal protection and exercising their 2A rights beyond hunting. Way to go Wisconsin!

Several news channels here in Colorado have covered the big Tanner Gun show in Denver today. Background checks that used to take 20 minutes are now 8-10 DAYS out. Huge backlog of 11 to 12,000! CBI wants more $$ to get the backlog caught up. Whew!!

Makes sense since we got the new Carry law last year. If most CCL holders are like me they had to purchase a couple different models to see what they liked. I have to admit I purchased a few before settling in on one that goes everywhere with me.

The number of background checks is up over 200% from last year at this time, according to the Liberal leaning CBS news this evening. Must be sending them into convulsions over there in the news room. lol.

It seems like numbers have been high since 2008. When one thinks they are topped out, they go higher still. I'm in there some too.

I have to say I am proud of Wisconsin citizens for getting it done and exercising their right. I'm even happier there is reciprocity.
