I have a question for gutless people

Any of you gutless guys carry AIWB? I love the idea and ease of draw but can seem to make it work. I gave up on carring my XDm 3.8 AIWB but I got a Shield for Christmas and hoped to try it again, the first day my wife ask what was different, "I never see you gun what are you doing different?" and my 18 daughter who wouldn't notice a frog on my head ask if I were gaining weight!

    I'm 6'4 and 173 lbs....

I don't carry appendix, but even if I did I would hesitate to answer a question addresses to "gutless guys"...

A word which rhymes with "gutless" explains why I would never carry AIWB.

I agree. I tried AIWB once, but was so concerned about where the muzzle was pointed that I decided not to do it anymore...

IMO, AIWB is the most comfortable method of carry and offers the easiest draw. I do NOT carry cocked and locked there, though.

I carry that way and don't much care to carry any other way. I am 6'1" & 215 and I make it work with all of my carry guns even my 5" 1911.

Good idea. You don't want to end up, um...half-cocked.

So it isn't really the easiest draw, since you have to rack it after you get it out.

I carry aiwb. My stomach is more or less flat and a glock 19 feels very comfortable there. It's the only position I can carry comfortably.

The only pistol I carry that way is the 442 in a galco IWB holster.
My brother carries his S&W M&Pc and sometimes one of the nickel 19 snubs also.

I've tried and tried to make this work and I just can't seem to do it comfortably. I'm 6' 190 lbs with a 32-33 waist and just can't get comfortable with it. Yeah, I can make a gun invisible there... but man I sweat A LOT in the Florida humidity and it's just not a comfortable spot for me to have even less airflow.

I carry a Glock 20 or 21 AIWB at usually 1:00 or so lately. If I get thinner I can shift it around more, if I get fatter it needs to move to the right to conceal better.

    What holster are you using?

From the looks of it the 3.8 has a full sized grip and a relatively short slide. Depending on the holster design this can cause some trouble concealing. A longer slide typically conceals better, and the grip is always the part that's going to print.

I'm 6'0 and 200 - so not as "gutless" as you...but I don't throw up in my mouth when I look in the mirror either.

The right holster, belt and then find the sweet spot. Find that spot gun disappears and it's comfortable.

My EDC is a XD, mostly subcompact but do carry service sometimes. Both work subcompact hides a little better but I've never had anyone say the notice it even with the service.
