What are the general rules for transporting a gun in your trunk? Does the ammo need to be in a separate locked container? Or can you just not have the mag out of the gun, but be locked in the same container (I.e. Nano Box). If you have any info specific to Texas, that would be appreciated as well. Thanks!!!!!!'

Depends on what state you are in.
Your best bet would be to start with a visit to Handgunlaw.us, and then contact your state's Attorney General's Office.
