S/W 357 model 28
I am new to the forum, and have a question . I will be taking the conceal carry class next Saturday. I will qualify with my S/W 357 model 28 . My question is how do you conceal carry a gun of that size? What holster do you use?
Hi Huck. I love an N Frame Smith but it is a hefty chunk of steel to carry. Suspenders are good for distributing the weight of a big gun and I recommend the Perrys. That along with a good belt and a pancake type holster to pull the gun in to your body and a sufficient cover garment for concealment will make it possible to CC your model 28. That's a sweet revolver by the way.
Thanks for your help

Is it a 4 or 6 inch barrel? If it is a 6" barrel then a shoulder holster would be a good idea. Go with a high quality one. If it is a 4" barrel then a high quality pancake style is a good way to go. It also depends on the clothing you wear at the time. During the winter if it is cold here in Virginia I will ocassionally carry my 4" S&W 28-2 in an old S&W field holster under a medium length winter coat with no problems at all. The thing to remember is that there is no one way that works for everyone, and what works for me may not work for you.
If that little kid in the John Wayne movie "The Cowboys" could conceal that Hog Leg you can conceal a Model 28
I am partial to shoulder holsters for big guns too. That S&W is a classic.
i have a s&w model 27 5" that is a sister to the 28-its sweet -have you considered open carry?-
or try a shoulder holster.myself i will look at open carry for my s&w 27 .
