A few sentences of summary might assist those looking at your post...just a suggestion.

Basically says "don't mess with Michigan", in similar terms to other states that have recently introduced legislation to the effect of "new federal laws shall not apply to us".

Woops sorry about that it pretty much says federal laws will not apply in Michigan. Also I heard talk of another bill to protect cpl holders information private.lets hope both go through. Side note st clair county cpl board meets today. Turned in my paperwork dec 17th, so now ill be checking the mailbox everday. And waiting for a phone call saying my very first handgun came in.

Sweet: they nailed it right at the top, Section 2A:

Sec. 2. The legislature finds all of the following:
    (a) Amendment X of the constitution of the United States
guarantees to the states and their people all powers not granted to
the federal government elsewhere in the constitution and reserves
to the state and people of Michigan certain powers as they were
understood at the time that Michigan was admitted to statehood on
January 26, 1837. The guaranty of those powers is a matter of
contract between the state and people of Michigan and the United
States as of the time that the compact with the United States was
agreed upon and adopted by Michigan and the United States.

Here's hoping WI does the same thing. I like my 14 round magazines & the ability to buy firearms & ammo freely without undue hassle.

And they have their pick of 5 of them!

I just hope nothing stupid happens like Gov. Snyder vetoing the bill... like he did to our advanced CPL bill.

If enough states get behind these bills and do the same, it could be a good sign for the peoples rights.. God knows its time to reclaim our legal ability to exercise inalienable, God given rights.. what the liberal government doesnt realize, is that the bill of rights is not needed to GIVE us our rights.. those are granted just for being alive.. it only makes a bold point to say as much. "These are inalienable rights... dont f*** with them."

I hate to break it to you guys but this sort of thing will never hold up.

Sorry, I was possessed by Hopyard there for a minute. Whether these work I not, I applaud the proverbial line in the sand.

Sounds great to me. The Fed govt is over stepping its authority on a daily basis. States need to push back. We in SC might just have to seceed from the union again!

I think Montana passed something like this. It wouldn't be difficult to mill AR15 stripped lowers and sell them in MI. The user could add their own hardware.

If Illinois did this, I'd move next door to Les Baer!

Well, at least the reloaders are covered. Here's hoping some gun manufacturers decide to relocate here. We have the skilled labor, need the jobs.

Thank you to the Michigan senators who proposed this. Hopefully the Guv will not veto it.
