    And the waiting game begins

I dropped off my paperwork and got my fingerprints taken at my county sheriff's office yesterday. They have 14 days to finish their background check, then it's off to the state. The state asks citizens give them 60 to 90 days for processing once they receive the paperwork from the sheriff's office.

But, based on what others have told me, I can expect a permit in about four months if everything goes well.

I'll try not to count the days, but I am excited.

It varies from state to state. My sister sent her application in sept 12th and her ccw permit arrived on dec 1st,this past yr,but,we are in S.C.It will probably seem like forever, but hopefully it won't be to long before you get it.

Mine took about ten days start to finish. However, I know it's different state to state, and of course with the huge numbers of people around the country taking their personal safety seriously and applying for permits, the backlog is pushing the processing time much longer than it used to be.

It's going to take so long because of the backlog. I just hope I don't run into any issues with things I have no control over, like my fingerprints being bad or something.

Thanks for the congrats and I'll keep everyone posted, for sure.

    And the waiting game begins

Took me 3 weeks here in Georgia. I applied the Friday before Christmas, so they had a couple holidays to deal with also.

It took 35 days for my renewal in Georgia with the new "Looks Like a Drivers License with my Picture and two holograms on the front". It used to be a Thumb Print on the license and a judges scribbling sealed in plastic. I now have my fingerprints on record Digitally so the next time should take even less time, lots of luck with that. Money and more Money to get it done. Now when someone asks for Picture ID I can give them either versions.
