I agree with only telling your spouse but make sure she knows not to say anything to anyone. I wish it was only my wife who knew but I regret to say that's not the case.
If you have a Concealed Handgun License and you tell a bunch of people, you won't be doing a very good job with the whole concealed part.
You mean people on here carry guns :gah: those things are EVIL. The less that knows the better off you are.
Other than a small group of trusted friends that carry also I dont tell. If someone sees it then I guess they will know then.
My wife knows.
If you are in a sticky situation and a friend who knows you carry is along, do you really want them yelling, "You've got a gun, do something."
Noone needs to know. Less opportunity for them to tell a friend and them tell a friend and so on and so on
I'd treat it basically like your bank account number: nobody really needs to know, much as they might like to.
One way to think of it ... As to whether to have discussions with people once you determine their position on things and/or willingness to consider the value of being armed, it can be much to the benefit of the cause to have more folks thinking positively about all of it. But, retaining control over whom you tell and in what circumstances allows you to manage such situations, instead of having them blow out of control and managing you.
Very few people need to know that I carry. Shooting buddies and immediate family are among the few who do know.
I have had lots of conversations about guns with people who have carry licenses, but I don't feel the necessity of acknowledging that I carry. When specifically asked if I carry, I will answer "sometimes"...they don't need to know that the real answer is "always".
Just wear this then people wouldn't ask
Who to Tell
Absolutely now one!
Welcome Bobby Lee! To answer your question tell no one! The less people know about you the better off you are.
Even my wife rarely knows if I'm carrying.
There's just no need to advertise.
If a need for my weapon's presence to be revealed, I'll let it make its own announcement.
