Almost threw away my new permit...
Hi all. I am proud to say I am now legal to carry concealed in the state of Georgia.
I received a letter from the courthouse and when I opened it up, it was a letter telling me how Alaska is now honoring Georgia's licenses. Well, I was sitting there and saying to myself, "This letter would be alot more useful if I actually HAD my concealed permit". So, I was about to crumple it up and toss it, when I heard a light "tick" on my desk. I look under the paper and there was my laminated permit.
I am extremely happy now. It took almost exactly 3 months.
Very weird though, how you spend all this time waiting and moaning about how it takes so long and just being so anxious to carry and reading up all you can on these forums, yet when I sat down and started to think about the awesome responsibility I now have, it was very sombering and eye-opening.
And on top of that, I got the permit, I think Thursday or Friday and haven't even gone out yet to try it out. Tomm I need to go to Home Depot, so I think I will break the permit in there. And, I will need to make the traditional run for nachos at Wal-mart.
I just wanted to thank everyone here who has helped me prepare for this day and for all I have learned here and will continue to learn.
I hope I and all of you, never have to use it.
