I watch a lot of TV and movies and I play a lot of video games so I gots me some real good training...picked up a few good things from youtube too...learned a lot from this one guy who has a shiny concealed carry badge that must know what he's talking about because he wouldn't be able to get the badge if he didn't deserve one...right???

No I have not. I do practice when I get the chance and participate in defensive pistol competitions. I'd love to do more training if I could get the logistics and money worked out.

Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

I had no mandated training requirement.

I chose to learn and keep training. Had nothing to do with what was required.

And I would think that lots of people who choose to carry have grown up with guns, hunting, skeet, or other shooting sports and have developed many skills.

    (I didnt)

The thing about "defense" is that it has practically nothing to do with guns. (As passed on by CCW9MM)

IDPA practice here is $10. Lots of help and skill development. You dont even have to compete...I dont. (Altho I might some day to increase stress levels)

No mandated classes in Georgia. Have been shooting IPSC since 1991 and in the last 3 years have taken 5 Gun Fighting Courses which are on "Hot Ranges" and feel good about them. Will be at the Armed Society is a Polite Society Classes and Competetion in Memphis fully armed at that Hot Range. I use an IDPA Competetion match as a warm up for a monthly IPSC match.
