I'm in the market for a slim mag pouch for my 1911. I'm curious as to the best ones you have found/used. Are the horizontal ones any good? Should it be open top or latched? Also are there any that will clip inside a pocket to keep the lint out? I know its a lot of questions but any advise is helpful.

I like Fobus mag pouches (although I don't particularly like their holsters). The mag pouches are thin but keep a good friction fit on the mags. I've never tried clipping a mag pouch to a pocket so I can't speak to that.
Please see this thread. I think they are one of the best out there.
If I didn't make my own in leather I would be buying this one.
