Step 1: Check!
Took my CCDW class and passed along with 23 other fellow gun owners who believe, "The individual is not only best qualified to provide his own personal defense, he is the only one qualified to do so: and his right to do so is guaranteed by the Constitution." -David Mamet
I don't begrudge our president, or certainly his children, the lifetime of armed security that comes with the office. Okay, I do a little. But if he can't understand a modest American's need to protect his or her own family the best way he or she deems necessary, with whatever the most effective tools are, he does not deserve to live here. And he certainly does not have the capacity to LEAD us. I will decide what I need and what my family needs, thank you very much.
My grandmother had a framed needlepoint that hung in her house for as long as I can remember that read, "They said it couldn't be done, so I did it." Bring it on Obama. Bring it on.
Fired up this evening.
Congrats to my class- looking forward to more training.

Thanks for adding your name to the list of documented gun enthusiasts & people who believe in personal self defense. There's safety in numbers.
Not only are the President's children protected at that school but there's private armed security there regardless if the Obama girls are there or not. The school has some students from families that are very anti-gun, David Gregory's for one. They can afford the luxury. In my state it illegal to have guns on school property & our budgets are just too small to be able to provide any additional professional security. But I'm preaching to the choir.

Congrats on the first step. Hopefully the process will be quick and smooth for you, and you'll soon be carrying.
