    Yall are missing the point.

The sign isn't prohibiting anything that isn't already illegal (carrying WITHOUT a license), it's simply notifying that unlicensed carry in that establishment would incur enhanced penalties.
LICENSED carry is still perfectly OK.

Sorry I came to the dance a little late.

CigarSix, this is one of the signs we love to see in Texas! As menitioned before, it clearly states that the "unlicensed possession" is unlawful. If you have your CHL you are licensed. In my opinion since any business has the right to post a 30.06 sign but they post this instead I feel that they support CHL!

When I see this sign I smile!

Welcome to the forum, from Houston.

It is forum is equally as good as Defensive Carry but Texas CHL focused.

I like the sign. It at least tells lawful CC'rs that they are welcome. It won't necessarily do anything to stop a criminal who wants to do harm, unless that criminal stops to read and actually understand what it's saying, and thus realizes that there may be lawfully armed people inside, but still I like it.

Any sign addressing weapons in French is unenforceable.

    Except maybe, "se rendre".

Does one have to get a license in TX to posses a knife or baton or brick?

The word "weapon" on that sign is really the one that makes it a joke.

And any sign that ever lists penalties darn well better cite the appropriate law.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.

    Wow, just wow.

Some of you all don't really grasp what has been posted in this thread do you. Hopyard and others have stated, and pointed out why this sign is posted at any restaurant that sells alcohol in Texas.

THEY ARE REQUIRED TO BY LAW. THEY AREN'T TRYING TO PROHIBIT ANYTHING.

To the OP. Didn't your instructor cover those signs and the meaning during your CHL class?
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

Good grief. This thread is Exhibit 1 for why our legislature should NOT reduce the number of hours of instruction required
    to get a TX CHL.
If the Union is once severed, the line of separation will grow wider and wider, and the controversies which are now debated and settled in the halls of legislation will then be tried in fields of battle and determined by the sword.

This is a quote from the OP clear back on post #4, well before the roundy-round left the platform.

...that law which you posted Tx PC 30.06, has nothing to do with the sign that he's posting about...which is a sign mandated by TABC...we do things a bit differently in TX...thanks for your service and WELCOME HOME...

I agree, if this sign is required in Texas for businesses that serve or sell alcohol then the sign is not intended to be anti-gun. Licensed carriers are assumed to be welcome there.
