Looked as if it had very minimal recoil...or it could have been the shooter....

If it's anything like the G30 SF, it's a great gun. I have the SF and it's a pleasure to carry and shoot. Very little perceived recoil and very accurate.Originally Posted by dben002

I think my G30 is pleasant to shoot. I don't see the advantage of the 30S. The only downside of the G30 is the weight, mainly that of the ammo, not the .1" more in slide width.

I've got the SF also......the Mags suck.

I have never heard of it so I just looked it up. Glocks website says it is built on the 30sf frame with a slimmer slide for concealed carry ... But the hole gun is 1/100 of an inch wider that the G30sf. I don't understand but it interests me. I'm going to find me one and see. Looks like I'm going to the gun shop soon.

I saw this announcement from SHOT show. I am very interested in a G30s or one of the new Gen 4s.

I checked with my LGS and they hadn't even heard about the new releases and hence they had no idea when they hit the street.

I wonder if the "new" S is any different from a 36/30. The slide of a Glock 36 works very nicely on a G30SF frame.
I know one difference is that you used to have to buy 2 Glocks to make that combo. It looks like Glock finally did what many others have done to avoid the fat slide of the 30.

I have not measured the G-36 slide width but I know putting one on a G-30 allows you to use the same holster that you may have for your G-17/19/23/22 etc.

I would tend to believe the sf will go away with gen 4. Just a hunch, but Glock can cut costs that way.
