SC CWP Holders NEED Action ASAP: Resturant Carry Bill

It is upon us once again for a bill to allow us to carry in resturants. Maybe with some new faces in the statehouse we can make this happen

Voted out of Senate committee in a 3-0 vote. The house bill has very similar wording and I think 34 sponsers. It will be up to the full Senate to get this done. After last year, I am just glad to see something come out of committee.

In spite of all the Anti media reporting lately, states continue, for the most part, to push pro-gun bills.

The same type amendment just got sent back to committee and effectively killed in N.C. after appearing to have enough support to put to a vote. Hope you have better luck.

Media is out in full force stirring up the issue. They can't beleive we would allow guns in bars. The problem is that in SC in order to have an on-premise liquor license, you have to serve food. So effectively every bar is a restaurant.

We had to fight hard in Georgia to get this, but it sure was worth it. Same thing here in the media................people were going to shoot the waitress/waiter if they screwed up the order, "Blood in the streets" type stuff.

    It's a non-issue now. Good luck.

It would be great also if you could get your Legislators to allow reciprocity with Georgia's GWCL holders.

SC is certainly working the problem:

The state may declare its residents as its own militia.

Am I correct in saying that the current law only applies to restaurants that serve liquor ?

Shucks I carry in restaurants all the time.

The constitutional carry bill might help this. I will have to read it again to see how it affects citizens of other states.

Edit: The consitutional carry bill is not limited to state citizens. It will allow anyone to carry concealed without a permit in the state if it passes.

The current law as it has been interpreted by a former AG bans conceal carry in places that allow on-premise consumption of alcohol. This includes most of the nicer restaurants.
