Washoe County, NV - 43 Days
I posted this over at Packing.org, but figured I'd post here as well.
Turned in my paperwork and got printed on September 15. Today (10-28) I got my CCW in the mail. That's 43 days. Pretty good time. I'm a CA resident, so it's a non-resident NV permit good for 3 years.

Yup! We quit using the Pony Express a couple years ago!
By the way... Welcome aboard!

This is great news for both of us, it means that mine should be showing up in the mail this week or next!
Congrats

Congrats...
but you can't use in CA...right? And many places require the permit holder to be a resident of the issuing state...
Where can you use it?
Curious...

I'm moving to NV in a few months, and I also travel there for business/pleasure pretty often. I'll put it to good use. Plus, I can use it on my business trips to AZ as well. I've also got my Utah permit coming soon hopefully.

While Nevada state law gives the local sheriff's dept upt to 120 days, the smaller counties tend torun faster. I'm happy to see that Washoe, which is I believe the 2nd largest county in Nv only taking that long. Clark County (Las Vegas area,), tends to use every day of the 120, and I have heard of many people getting theirs even slower. I lucked out, getting minein only 90 days. For those who live outside of Nevada, who would like a Nevada nonresident permit, I would reccomend applying to one of the smaller counties, and avoid Clark. When you live outside of the state, you can apply to any sheriff's department in Nevada. Those of us who live in Nevada are stuck applying to the sheriff of the county where they live. The funnt thing is that while Metro took 90 days to send me the permit, the date of issue listed on my permit is a few days after I applied.

The Sheriff's Dept. here in Washoe County has updated their CCW handling so things are much faster. In fact, their ID section only processes CCW's on I think it's Wednesdays (call to verify 775-785-4629). So for us locals, no waiting in line behind casino work card applicants!
+1 Washoe County Sheriff's Office!

I'm not sure how this happened, but I got my washoe county permit in 2 weeks (14 days) after I turned in my paperwork the day of my 21st birthday. Pleasantly surprised

That's great! I spent 3 or 4 hours getting my paperwork, Photo, and fingerprints done here in Clark County, precisely because I had to wait behind people getting sheriff's card (at least there were a few strippers or escorts in the group, to make the wait more pleasant).
