Range Report Les Baer Break in

Well Made it out to the range today got some shooting in what can i say the gun shoots like a dream

Groups nice and tight it is sold with a 3" at 50 yards Guarantee

I had a lot of one Hole groups

Couple things i've found out it doesn't like colt Mags as you will see but worked fine with anyother makers mag springer kimber etc etc

Also ya Can't slingshoot the slide which is weird but im sure more it breaks in it will work..

But depressing the slide stop is not a issue like on my springer where it takes 2 men and a small boy to depress the slide stop on a loaded mag not so the baer

Ambi is little stiff to on the ambi side

Also i couldn't one hand it slide wouldn't cycle fully so i didn't bother anymore for now

What more can i saw i have never shot anything like it ..

    It is a wonderful shooter

56 Rounds and first FTF 2nd Round Springfield Mag

91 Rounds 1 FTF 2nd Round First Colt Mag

152 Rounds FTF round 5 Colt Mag

160 Rounds FTF first round Colt Mag

175 Rounds FTF 2+3 Colt Mag yet again

191 Rounds FTF 2nd Round Colt Mag

239 total Round shot with 7 FTF all colt mags but 1 bet if i would have stopped using the colt mags i would have only had the 1ftf but everything was preloaded

Funny the last 48 rounds i ran thought it with wilson+cmc Mags again worked fine and the gun was very dirty

Im not disappointed even though i had a lot of FTF Next time i will not use the colt mags with it and see how it does

Since it ran on every other kind of mag Sorry no new pics maybe when i take it apart for cleaning

LOL...and to think I was happy about my 2X6 in the 10 ring at 7 yards!!! Of course, I was using a $299 Beretta 9000s with a 3.5" barrell, but I still feel like I got beat like a red headed step child!

Why Baer mags of course which look like a cross between wilson 47d's and cmc powermags

they use a plastic follower like the wilson

Useful report Bud - and obviously it seems mag sensitive.

Early days tho in a sense so still pretty good.

yes chris my trophy match and 2 loaded the slide stop is useless for releasing the slide

I'm Wondering if the Baer has a shock buff in it and thats why i can sling shoot it

Against what i wanted to do i didn't break it down and clean it as instructions said not to to run it 200-300 rounds then break down and clean ...

Not sure what oil they had put on it at the Factory ..

No Shock Buff in it and MAN WAS IT DIRTY

Now i got to decide on lube i did use the MMC stuff they sent with it but 1Oz is not going to last me long

So what does anyone recommend for a synthetic lube ?

I've been using Mobile one on the rest of my 1911's Think it would be ok and not void warranty?

    Bud,

Glad to see that you finally got the chance to break it in, it will get better. The accuracy is fantastic on them isn’t it?

My 1st Baer was the reason I started using Tripp Cobra Mags. It would run on Colt’s and GI surplus but would occasionally FTF with Wilson 47Ds. Switched to the Cobra’s and haven’t had a FTF yet. My Baer mags have been 100% in both of my Baer’s, I just like the Tripps better.

My Concept V came with a buff and wouldn’t sling shot either, lost the buff and all is well. I put 500 through both of mine before cleaning and they both smoothed out considerably after the 1000 round mark.

I’m still using the MMC stuff, it’s about five something per OZ from the manufacturer. The original bottles that came with my guns were 1/4oz.

    Chuck

I rate Mobil1 pretty high Bud - and would not expect that to void any warranty - unless they specifically state - only MMC.

Phenomenal guns, but due to the tight tolerances they do take quite a while to wear in to where they are reliable (a shooting buddy's took 500-600 rounds before it would reliably go into battery).
