To tell or not to tell.............

At lunch the other day at a local chinese buffet, I noticed a sight that caught me by suprise. while eating lunch with a friend, I noticed another patron was CC'ing, mainly because his shirt had become caught between the grip of his weapon and his side while wearing an IWb holster. I was unsure wether or not I should say something to him. The restraunt is not marked an a no weapon area, but people were noticing. In the end I approached him and politely told him I liked the wooden grips on his pistol... he had a bit a "oops" look but quickly recovered and thanked me for telling him. In the end no harm no foul..... my lunch partner said I should have let him be as it was his problem to deal with and if he cant carry properly, then it sucks to be him. My theory is he may have been new to carrying and was still adjusting to the ins and outs, and I may have helped him out.

what does anyone else think about this?

Good move on the wooden grip comment. I would want someone to tell me if i tucked my shirt in wrong. Your friend isnt helping with his attitude.

I think you did fine... you told him and he corrected it. The people in the restaurant were able to go about their day, he had a teachable moment with carrying concealed and the day continued on. I see nothing wrong with helping him the way you did.

I would have done the same thing and would appreciate it if a fellow CC would do the same for me.

Thanks for affirming the "Dont be a Jerk" Philosophy. My friend, while good intentioned, is a bit rough, that I readily admit and I am working on his social skills lol.

    i think you did GREAT!
i wish i could think of such a tactful way (as you did) to handle such a situation
i have no doubt that the OP (other patron) was very appreciative for the "heads up" in such a friendly manner

You did right. I can only hope someone would do the same for me if the unforgivable (to myself - I'd be banging my head because I pride myself in concealing well) happens.

In this case it went fine, it could have also gone the other way as well. Since IN is a OC with license state, I probably wouldn't have said anything to him.

Great move. You did not say if your lunch partner CC's or even liked guns. Anyway you helped me in that if I ever see the same situation I will say something quietly to the individual..... Thanks
