One witness says she was shopping at Cross Creek Mall when she heard what she thought was a gunshot. The witness says she then saw a girl lying in the floor. The witness also says she saw a gun on the floor.
Another witness says the person who dropped the gun attempted to blend into the crowd of shoppers.
Fayetteville police say authorities have detained a person pending an investigation. No charges have been filed and the person's name hasn't been released.
I sure hope this wasn't a guy who carried concealed. I have thought about this when I carry sometimes. Some sort of accident....
