I didn't hand out candy at home. I did take my niece out trick or treating and yes my Springfield 45 acp. made the trip around the neighborhood with me.

I took my son who will be 4 in Feb. and my daughter that just turned 1. We went with our friends who have a 3 year old boy as well and the mom's sister and her husband who have a 5 month old.

I decided it was a good time to take my 'new-to-me' GP100 and 2 speed loaders for a walk in their new shoulder rig. Usually I carry an XD9SC though.

I thought about putting on a 5.11 vest, fanny pack, rigging up an ankle holster with too-tight pants, etc, and going as the guy who would get shot first :)

We get the same crap here. We're actually thinking of not handing out candy next year. Most of our neighbors have stopped for those reasons.

Yes I was carrying (my first Halloween carry) and even had my wife carry her brand new (this past weekend) Glock 19.

Was I carrying concealed? no. I always open carry at home.
About 8:00 pm I heard something outside my office window so I went to the door. there were 5 Teanagers (about 17-18 years old) snooping around the house, one was on the back porch. I grabed the candy bowl and opend the door and stepped out. when I did the other youths came up on the porch, all had their faces half covered (it was cold out). The guy by the door was shocked when he saw my gun on my hip and ther others were speachless. The one nearest me said Trick or Treat after a bit. I gave them each 2 candy bars then watched as the wallked down my long driveway.

I have no Idea what their real intentions were but none were carrying any thing to put candy in. There have been cases where old folks were beaten after opening the door. These guys were really taken aback to be met by an armed person.

The candy was by the door and the .45 was UWB, just like every Halloween and workday for the last 5 years. (Godbless, Florida gunlaws)

Yes. I had my trusty P3AT in a pocket holster, as usual, and a Glock 19 within reach just inside the house.
