When strangers come to door one never knows what may go down.
Open carry reduces reaction time if it is ever necessary to acces gun.
Besides while at home I like to be comfortable and wearing a cover garment sometimes is not comfortable. I always wear open carry while at home whether in the house or in the yard or in the pasture.
Just because someone may come to door doesn't mean I have to grab a jacket, it is my home and I dress however I wish. If someone is affended by my gun they can leave and they don't need to come back. If they don't like my packing they have a problem, not me, and I don't need to hear about it. I really don't live to please others.

i turn all the lights off and watch TV in a room away from the front door/windows.

My neighborhood is kind of nuts on halloween with constant trailer rides down the streets and parties on every block. Now they have the police at the entrance because people were trucking in kids from other areas.

People tell me when I have kids I'll understand it all. I would rather avoid the whole thing.

.....I've noted one or two folks mentioning that they opened carry during Halloween. That said, to folks wishing to debate those that opened carried, please don't; lets not sidetrack this thread on a concealed vs. open carry debate. Historically on this forum, this topic get heated causing us on staff to have to close the thread and/or edit posts.
