MO Dept. Of Revenue Working With DHS On Backdoor Gun Registration

Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder held a press conference today on a backdoor Department of Homeland Security gun registration.
The Missouri Department of Revenue is working with the Department of Homeland Security to install new hardware and software to obtain data on Missouri citizens and transfer this information to DHS and unnamed third parties, says Kinder.

Kinder and the Stoddard County Prosceutor took legal action and held a press conference outlining the infringement on civil liberties.
Dana Loesch interviewed Peter Kinder this afternoon.

I would not be surprised if this isn't happening, hasn't already happened, in many more states already. Yep they aren't after our guns at all...........

I’ve been trying to figure out what this is about. After doing some Google searches I found some discussion that seemed to tie CCW endorsements on the MO Drivers License to the information being made accessible to DHS. I haven’t found anything yet that ties it to specific weapons unless MO is a state where the CCW is tied to a specific weapon. How does the Department of Revenue figure into this?

In any case who is requesting this and why. I wonder if an RFP was issued with the system requirements.

The state of MO does not tie their CCW to any specific weapons. It appears that this isn't so much about weapons data specifically, it's more about federal collection of any personal data that is being collected by the state, which might include the fact that someone has a CCW.

I'll be keeping an eye on this for certain and I'll post up anything else I find.

What a mess. NRA needs to get involved in this one..
The police are not there to protect you from crime, they are there to arrest the guy after the crime has been committed, assuming they find him. It is your responsibility to protect yourself and your family.

The better question would be how many states are already doing it?

We have a lot of members here from Missouri.

I need you Missouri members to stay right on top of this one.

I am occupied with a few of my own firearm related issues much closer to home.

Post any additional information/updates in this thread or start a new one should there be any major changes or revelations.

    Much obliged

From Pete Kinder's Twitter - A judge has already granted a temporary restraining order halting this transmission of personal information.

I'm currently looking for ways concerned Missourians can get actively involved. When I get some good directions, I'll post them up here.
