and you want a 'few' non-resident CCW permits?
You already have one of the best, and live in one of the best states...
    Are you a world traveler?...a collector?...what's up?

If you go to Handgunlaw.us and click on "Non Resident Permits" in the left colunm it will tell you which states issue non resident permits and how to obtain them.

Just about all the info you need about CCW can be found at Handgunlaw.us. Take some time and explore the site. You will find it very worth while.

You might want to try http://www.packing.org/ and get their take on things.

Your resident Florida is a good start

You have a good start with your resident Florida permit. Unless I am mistaken, it gives you 30 states. But Florida won't give you Minnesota, Washington, Maine, Nevada, Massachusetts or Connecticut, all of which you could add with the right non-resident permits.

With certain states you are just out of luck at present, and these would include California, Oregon, West Virginia, South Carolina, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, New York, Maryland, Kansas, Nebraska, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Hawaii.

I would start by getting Utah, which you can do by mail - that would give you Washington and Minnesota. Then you could get Maine by mail as well. The other three, MA, CT and NV are possible, but it might require some travel or jumping through more hoops than you want. So you can easily get to 33 states, and theoretically get up to 36 states if you try hard. Presently you can't go any higher than that, with Florida residency.

I personally think that if you just sit tight you will pick up a few more states as laws are updated. My bets would be on Kansas, Wisconsin, Nebraska, West Virginia, Iowa and South Carolina. But I think Hell will freeze over before you get some of the others.

I agree that Utah would be the best permit to get. The combination of Utah and Florida permits will cover most of the states that will issue CCW permits. As for the other states, I would get them based on your likelihood of actually travelling to that state. . Remember that you will be investing a lot of money, most lokely several hundred dollars. I live in Las Vegas, and when I applied for my NV permit, I sent in applications for Fla and Utah as well. I am not likely to travel to any of the other states that allow concealed carry. Should you feel that you would like to travel to Nevada, plan well ahead if you want to carry your handgun. Nevada law gives the sheriff of the county where you apply 120 days to issue the permit, and Clark County (Las Vegas area), takes every bit of it, with many reports of longer times. Should you decide to apply for a Nevada nonresident permit, you do have the option of choosing the county where you would like to apply. Smaller counties (at least in population if not size-Clark County is the size of Massachusetts), will most likely take much less time. You will need to have proof of training that is acceptable to Nevada (I would imagine a NRA certified class would be acceptable, but you would need to check). Also, Nevada requires that you qualify with each gun that you wish to carry, and them model is listed on the permit. Nevada unfortunately will not honor any other state's permit.
