I was in a firefight during the First Gulf War, so yes I\'ve used my weapon on someone (M16A2).

I also got a Purple Heart that night (AK47 at close range).

I drew my weapon many times when I was an MP. The scariest times were when I worked undercover with MPI.

As to using/pulling one as a civie. No. And I also hope I never have to.

I realise this is a very old thread, and this is 2015, ten years after the last post, but I wanted to add my 0.02 cents worth.

For you dear reader, who took the time to look this far back into the archives....

During my time as an armed bonded courier, (early 2000s) I had to take a piece of med equipment back to the pharmacy warehouse in a deserted and somewhat shady part of town. It was a cold windswept night, and construction work was being done on the side of the old building requiring a large woven plastic tarp coverning some new brickwork on the side of the building. I had just dropped off the equipment and was walking back through a bay area towards a rolling gate I heard what I thought was the sound of feet running through the gravel parking lot. My .38 revolver was in the car about 20+ yards away but I was carrying my KelTec P32 in my right jeans pocket. Being I was one heavy door away from several hundred thousand dollars worth if street salable drugs, I drew my P32 and was taking up trigger slack when the little guns sights aligned with the target area I expected the attacker(s) to arrive at.
Thank God it was only the tarp from the construction work caught in the wind and swept into the bay door. Had it not been, and someone leaped upon that dock.....

I remember my last thoughts being...."I wish I had a bigger gun!"

I started carrying in 1992 and have never pulled my gun or ever felt I had the need to. I hope it stays that way.

Yes, a few times. Shots fired in my direction during standoffs. Returned fire once. Never had to shoot anybody…came close a time or two. Glad I did not have to.

I drew a gun a long time ago; my art teacher said it needed work...so I became a photographer.

This thread just usurped the 2006 thread as oldest resurrection ever. And no.

Yes, twice. Thwarted a home invasion and an attempted robbery of local gun store.
