    carry both..

those little Taurus's in .357 keep it stoked with Speer Gold Dot ammo in 38 +P...

    I also carry a .45 (now a Taurus 24/7 Pro in .45) 12+1 also Speer Gold Dot... (sometimes a Para ordenance P-14)

around here the PD and the Sheriff's all carry gold dot, so the fact that they carry it takes away from some of the perceived liability issues on ammo selection (if I ever wind up in court)

I like to carry the revolver in a jacket pocket, and have practiced firing through the pocket a couple of times.... (I like the results)

the last gunfight I was in, there were four BGs and I only fired one shot.... it was enough....

Do what works for you, the wheelie is nice for quick trips, and the semi-auto is nice for larger crowds...

Definitely the #1 choice... along with a few friends with the same rig... and maybe a grenade launcher...

If you can, carry both. Do so in a way that if you can't access one, you can access the other (like hip and ankle carry).

If you have to decide on only one, for God's sake, hang on to the GLOCK!!!!!

If your likelihood of facing multiple attackers is high, you definately need some serious weaponry, preferably belt fed, but since that's not an option go with the ugly gun.... ......ooops! I mean Glock, and some spare mags.

Also, silver tips is really good stuff, and the lack of the coating probably would not make that much of a difference.

It shoots mighty fine out of my XD Tactical in 45.

    Omho...

First and foremost...I'd move...Philly is a nice place to be FROM...
Next, use the Glock...keep extra mags...the Taurus could be a BUG...
Not moving?...pick your treks direct and during the day...
    Lastly...MOVE!

Before moving to FL, we lived in MI. Up there I felt like people were crowding in on me if someone bought the 10 acres next to me...can't imagine being in a 'crunched' neighborhood...with roving gangs!

    Stay alert...stay safe!

I hadn't thought of that; I guess the bullet holes and burn marks on the clothing might make some of them think twice.

If you have to pick one, definitely the Glock. No question.

    Better yet, get an XD.

It will still be better than a lot of other places...but we'll see! The whole country could be in trouble...in just a few more years.

retsupt99's last two comments are right on. I have a feeling that many places here are going down the toilet.

As for my response...glock and carry an extra mag.

Speaking of withstanding a gang's marauding, it's absolutely worth commenting on. One-on-one, I'd agree with the probability of not needing to reload. However, a gang's numbers change everything.

Definitely, go with the Glock (between those two choices). Or, carry both ... one on the hip and one in the pocket. You're in the crosshairs, in that community, it seems. Can't be cautious enough.
