Conversion of wife complete.

When I married my wife, she was one of those 'No guns in the house' people.

Well, got past that and got my first gun.

As it began to sink in that a hunk of metal holds no malice and is no more dangerous than a cheese sandwich, moved to the next step, which was her buying me a 686 for Christmas.

A few range trips and she is getting hooked.

Birthday and following Christmas brought more goodies.

Now, the conversion is complete. She has just walked out the door to do her CHL class.

The big trick is not to 'ram it down their throat'. That just makes them more resistant to change. If you approach it more obliquely, curiosity will do 95 percent of the job for you.

Congratulations on getting your wife hooked! I have been trying things for 3-4 months to get my wife interested, so far w/o success... I am hoping that she will get curious at some point.

Good job, my wife has always tollerated my guns but has no interest herself. Every now and then I ask if she wants to go shooting but after 16 years I think the chances are pretty low.

Well, she had decided that she wanted my Sig P239. So, I had to go and buy myself something new. Got a Glock 23 as I really didn't have the money for another Sig.

Sigh, I miss my Sig already.......

Anyway, I bought it at Jim Pruett's Guns and Ammo in NW Houston. ( I like to keep these 'real' gun stores in business rather than big chains who may suddenly decide to not sell guns after wiping out all competition in the area - Did somebody say Walmart?)

He also does classes, so I signed her up while I bought the gun. I didn't take my class there, so can't comment yet. I will ask her what she thought when she gets back.

A good success story but - do I sniff the outgoing of (even) more dollars in your collective futures? :wink: :18:

I prefer to think of it as stimulating the economy. It's my duty........

I thnk another Sig for me will be the most likely first example of 'economic stimulation'.

I lucked out. My wife was raised with firearms. I think she'd prefer Desperate Housewives, but she still goes to the range with me and we took our cwp class together. "A family that shoots together stays together." :biggrin2:

Never had a problem, she went hunting & shooting with me until we had kids; then , not, but buys me guns. and ammo..
