Pro-CCW radio ad!!!
So I'm listening to the local country (of course) station and hear an ad for CCW training, something to the effect of "thinking of getting a CCW? Schedule an appt with so-and-so to hear about the responsibilities and get qualified to get yours"
Wow, I was pretty surprised to hear that on the radio at 5:00 in the evening. Does this mean CCW is getting to be more accepted?

Aha! More proof that listening to country music just leads to harder stuff!
Sorry. I always laugh at my own jokes.
I think that maybe ads like that might help make CCW more accepted in the long run. The more that people understand about CCW and the people who choose to carry, the less chance that the vast majority of uninformed people in the middle of the issue will blindly swallow the outright myths, spin, and negative insinuation propagated by politicos and media "pundits".
Anything that helps to demystify and inform people is a benefit, IMHO.

I've Heard About That Country Music...
If you play country music backwards...you get your wife back, your house back, your dog back....
CCW advertisement can't hurt...we need more of it...

haha, yeah some it's grown on me, the wife is the one that really likes it, and I just deal with it. (I do like some though, like "5 oclock somewhere")

That is most refreshing.
The more this sort of thing is promoted, the more the sheep might just get to accept such things.

Since Oregon is "Shall Issue" for their residents, the only thing that really needs to be done there (and other "Shall Issue" states) is to get the word out that CCW licenses are both available and desirable. Stress that NORMAL people have them.
A CCW training ad at 5:00pm during rush hour? That's a Beautiful Thing! More Beautiful would be ads during morning and evening commutes all week and for a long time.

A local AM news station in Tucson runs an ad for a local gun and police supply shop. They mention CCW classes briefly as they go through their laundry list of goods/services for sale.

One of the local "conservative" talk stations here in the Denver area has quite a few ads for gunstores and CCW permit classes...
At least they aren't running them (I hope) on the local "rap music" station...

I actually saw an ad for CCW training on TV the other day.
I'm a child of the 60's, but I got over it.
