NJ iirc not shure on that , but a state or two east of the iron river ( Missippi ) do prohibit and or limit them for civilian use .
Make sure you get full value out of today , Do something worthwhile, because what you do today will cost you one day off the rest of your life .

NJ law states that hollowpoints are illegal for self defense, however there is no restriction on purchasing and you may use them in target shooting. Makes a lot of sense, right?

I thought it was illegal to CARRY hp in NJ? I thought you could have them in your home defense gun.

How about Federal's Expanding Full Metal Jacket (EFMJ) ammo--that would seem to avoid all hollow point issues, from feeding problems with a pistol to prohibition of hollow point ammunition.

jimmy the efmj and i think corbon makes a similar are a well known " loophole " used by folks who have that need , i dont belive the legality has been tested in court yet tho .

So New Jersey signed the Hague Conventions, it would appear! I wonder if they allow 00 buckshot for home defence...certainly a more powerful wounding potential than mere JHPs!
I would guess that EFMJ and pwr balls are not hollow points as far as this law is concerned.

Given that they are marketed as a solution for agencies that can't use hollow points, it could be folks wearing badges at the defendant's table....
