    allows carry in parks!
    Unfortunately, that leaves Tennessee out.

That sucks, the Smokies is a very nice park system (not that this will pass anyway, but I can hope). You guys should get that changed!

Anyone know how this turned out? Haven't seen any press dreading the horrors of "birds, NOT GUNS in National Parks"....or anyone else praising the passing of "common sense" legislation.

I'd say that S4057 is dead in the water. Congress has adjourned and when they reconvene, Dems will be in control. Fat chance of any pro-gun legislation being passed then, plus the bill's sponsor, Senator Allen, was defeated for re-election.

The Dem. Jim Webb that defeated him supported this bill..We'll see, only time will tell.

I agree, wait and see. But consider this: Webb will be a Freshman Senator, so I wouldn't count on him bucking the Party powers-that-be and voting for pro-gun legislation.

Just like the newly elected Democratic Senator from Montana, Jon tester. He claims he is pro-gun, and in fact, he did get an "A" rating from the NRA. But as a Freshman Senator, if push comes to shove, I have no doubt he'll vote the Party line on gun legislation. He got real chummy with Chuck Schumer during the campaign.
