    Concealed Carry in Maryland

I have a permit to carry in Maryland it has restrictions on it : To & From Work and then : While actively involved in financial business transactions. My biggest problem is the words or statement is very broad and i don't want carry if any grey area exist. I want to carry all the time but don't want to mess myself up and all the hard work i put into the permit .

This is exactly why these "restricted" carry permits are wrong. There is no basis for an honest, law-abiding citizen to understand the legality of any given carry situation. If you're going to a bank to make a deposit/withdrawal is that "financial business?" What about if you're going to a convenience store to buy milk, is that "financial business?" Basically, anytime I have money on me THAT is financial. We need clear gun laws and these types of "restrictions" just confuse everybody.

IMHO, a carry permit should be allowed in all areas in which it is legal to carry, or don't issue the permit and let the applicant take that issue up with the licensing authority.

I don't have any answers for you but I would like to say, from a former MD resident, you have my sympathy (although I'm somewhat surprised you were able to get a MD permit at all).

I don't have answers for you, except to say that MD will probably put the screws to you hard if you get caught making a mistake. That state is a pain in the ass for gun owners.

I would be the one to agree with you on that . I will work within the couple statements on my permit and make sure not to give a reason for them to revoke my permit . It does seem silly to me i am "OK" to carry an hour or two a day .

I'm so sorry, that is one miserable state to try and cc in. Or even take a house gun out to shoot.

I find MD worse than NJ and IL really. Just completely unrealistic and punitive.

Worse than NJ? I'm not sure if any state could be worse than NJ!

As a card carrying member of the People's Republic of Mary's Land I will tell you that it is NOT worse than NJ or IL. Now that's not sayin' much.

For the OP, if you are not politically connected you had better mind your P's and Q's with that permit and only carry when you are in the process of conducting a financial transaction that relates to your business and specifically "cash" transactions.

Does this suck? Yes, but the ramifications of getting pinched otherwise suck worse...

I finally gave up trying even though I pump several mil through this state a year. I have started to orient my business to Northern Virginia and carry when I am there which is often. Stove Jr. has another two years in high school and then the whole operation shifts south and out of this liberal open wound of a s***hole.

I love where El Rancho Stovo is located, neighbors are great, but I am tired of my 2A rights being compromised and I am going to vote with my feet.

You have a CC permit to carry in Maryland, but......but you don't have a CC permit to carry in Maryland. That is mind boggling.

I think the reason I think MD is worse than NJ or IL is because it does allow a few more *privileges* and yet has some very archaic and ridiculous restrictions. It's like they give you a little bit of the leash...and then yank you back.

Used to live in Mary's-Progressive-Land, will do my best not to even spend one $ again in that state. Heading to WV later this year an not flying into MD, nor spending any money there, regardless of all of my family in the tide water area that would like a visit. You can have it until you change it!

The way I have planned my trip, I can carry the whole time!

im your neighbor to the north. i live right on the MD/ PA border, im closer to alot of stuff in MD but because of their stupid laws concerning CC i take the longer trip to things and stay in PA. kudos for getting your permit but those silly cinderella laws make it a pain to carry. my uncle had is there for awhile but the constant showing proof of things and legalities behind it he finally gave up even trying for it anymore. with how strict MD is on this i would follow their laws to the fullest, i wouldnt want to jeopardize losing their license since they are hard to get, especially since it is something you need.
