Be thankful you're not in Crook county.

Wonderful! That means my wife will be able to carry there on her Missouri permit! As a Missouri resident carrying on a Florida permit it looks as though I won't be able to, that just means that as we cross the river I hand my gun to my wife.

This is going get interesting. He might want to check with the mayor of Chicago and Big Brother Bloomberg to make sure it's ok to do that.
    I'm sure the Govener does.

That list of 7 basic steps is, at worst, all it should basically take to run a CHL process. As he points out, there's little point at continuing to stand in the way of upstanding citizens carrying in their own defense.

Along those lines, there's little point in having a CHL process in the first place, either, as VT and AZ are neatly showing can be the case.

It is an interesting situation, though. As of June 10, the existing bans don't exist. He's determining unilateral law-creation powers, essentially. And the new CHL process won't yet have vetted citizens to lawfully carry under the new system. It'll be interesting to see whether the legislators in Springfield get totally bent over such things. Though, I imagine most of the conservative counties are going to at least consider something along these lines of non-enforcement as well. "Interesting" is the right word for it. And it'll likely show the only real blood running in the streets will be: felonious blood. (Hopefully no tense situations with LE occur, during this transitional period.)

Why do I hear this guy saying this in Cartman's voice from "South Park": Screw you guys in Springfield, everyone else go ahead and carry.

He issued a press release/memo detailing his decision. It's not on his website, if anyone can find it, would be wise to print and carry with your weapon during the transition. Gibbons is very common sense guy, and while a print out will not stop an officer from arresting you, it being in evidence will show a good faith effort to follow "the law".

Again if anyone can find the press release/memo please post for everyone to see.
