    South Carolina CWP

Quick question concerning the South Carolina CWP program. Even though the law states 90 days for issue, is anyone aware of delays due to increased applications and how to determine when process is complete? I submitted my package mid February after completing the course and should have received my permit around 24th of May....it's now the 9th of June. Am I jumping the gun here (no pun intended)?

I'm in the exact same boat. SLED confirmed receipt of my application on 2/28, making today my 101st day of waiting. The shop right down the street from my house (Limehouse Guns on Johns Island, where I took my class) said they have been hearing the wait us now sometimes 120 days. Frustrating as all hell.

SLED has been running behind for a couple years. It'll come.

It took almost 5 months before I got my CWP 4 years ago because they had moved to a new office and because of the increase in folks applying for CWP. My renewal just recently came in and it took 11 weeks. When I called them to check on the status she told me they were 80 days behind.

Interesting. I got my CWP here in SC after moving here from MI, and sent the application off in October 2012, and got my license Dec 2012, nearly 2 months to the day.

My original CWP took 89 days. My first renewal 5 weeks. This year 85 days for renewal. I was told they were behind on everything.

If you haven't gotten your CWP yet, you should call them. Like everyone else, not enough help....
