Concealed Firearm or Concealed Weapons Permit?
One questions I get a lot is does my permit allow me to carry knives and other weapons or is is just for firearms. Handgunlaw.us does not publish that info yet but I would like to add that info to my private data base to have for those who ask and maybe for enclusion on Handgunlaw.us in the future. If you could post your states name and if the permit is just for firearms or other weapons and/or a link to an official site stating this would be great if you have one.
If you have any other questions you can go to Handgunlaw.us and click on "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page and send me your questions. I will help all I can. I do have to say I don't have/know all the answers and please give me time to get back to you. It seems to come in spurts and I do get busy once in awhile. Thank You and
Stay Safe,

Concealable Weapons permit
Definition of:
SECTION 23‑31‑210. Definitions.
(5) “Concealable weapon” means a firearm having a length of less than twelve inches measured along its greatest dimension that must be carried in a manner that is hidden from public view in normal wear of clothing except when needed for self‑defense, defense of others, and the protection of real or personal property.
No other "Deadly Weapons" fit this particular definition above. The following is extracted from another section of the same SC law aludes to definition of "Deadly Weapons":
SECTION 16‑23‑460. Carrying concealed weapons; forfeiture of weapons.
Any person carrying a deadly weapon usually used for the infliction of personal injury concealed about his person is guilty of a misdemeanor, must forfeit to the county, or, if convicted in a municipal court, to the municipality the concealed weapon, and must be fined not less than two hundred dollars nor more than five hundred dollars or imprisoned not less than thirty days nor more than ninety days. Nothing herein contained may be construed to apply to (1) persons carrying concealed weapons upon their own premises or pursuant to and in compliance with Article 4 of Chapter 31 of Title 23 (CWP), or (2) peace officers in the actual discharge of their duties. The provisions of this section do not apply to rifles, shotguns, dirks, slingshots, metal knuckles, or razors unless they are used with the intent to commit a crime or in furtherance of a crime.

In Colorado it's a permit to carry a concealed handgun. No other weapon is authorized by the state CCW law. My guess is that individual cities and counties COULD (though I don't know of any that do) authorize the carrying of other weapons.

Gary - here for you a sample of the PA permit - this is old and when my renewal comes thru in January - I will have a DL type card.
You'll see tho it is down as ''Pennsylvania Licence to Carry Firearms'' - some details have been <cough> - tweaked! LOL Oh and the pic - that was believe it or not taken off my DL and then reduced - heck I could be Chez Gavara on that!

ME Permit is a concealed "firearms" permit allowing any concealed firearm.
NH is a concealed "pistol and revolver" permit
NY State (outside the city) is a "pistol" permit that allows concealed carry of a handgun only. This permit is needed to even possess a handgun as well.

In Idaho, it's a Concealed Weapons License. Covers pretty much any weapon that is otherwise legal (except rifles and shotguns??).
(7) Except in the person's place of abode or fixed place of business, or
on property in which the person has any ownership or leasehold interest, a
person shall not carry a concealed weapon without a license to carry a
concealed weapon. For the purposes of this section, a concealed weapon means
any dirk, dirk knife, bowie knife, dagger, pistol, revolver, or any other
deadly or dangerous weapon. The provisions of this section shall not apply to
any lawfully possessed shotgun or rifle.

Tennessee is a "Handgun Permit". Which leaves a lot to be desired.
