Well, you just opened the floodgates...this topic is similar to "9mm vs. .45 ACP", "Open Carry", or a number of others...could be a record-setter in thread length before it's over....
To stay on topic, yes I always carry with one in the pipe. Why? Because if I'm in an armed encounter I can't call for a time out to rack the slide...

As much as it is PITA to unload it in the car when I have to stow it, I don't myself being able to pull it, rack it and then shoot in one smooth motion in an emergency. So, I carry with one in the pipe.
