Countries that allow concealed carry to the citizens

I have tried several times to find countries that are friendly to the concealed carry issue and get all kinds of misinformation. Does anyone have a credible list to what countries allow carry and which don't?

Since my family had dwindled down so small and no children to care for we have considered working on the bucket list of places to go, and here in 2013 for certain reasons, our decision is even more leaning to leaving the good ol USA for a spell and have some stability. With a contract on my home now this decision is getting much closer.

Somewhere warm with decent medical facilities is in our way of thinking, but I sure would hate to leave behind or have to sell my fun guns. Belize is looking good on the money side but from what I'm seeing it's a bit primitive, however I could be wrong since I've never been there.

A lot of military here, I figured you fellows have been everywhere and would know!

    At least, probably, anyway.

I have to say I agree with pittypat. Even if you do find a country that is gun friendly, you'll find much else lacking.

My suggestion: downsize in an area that you really like and and is really gun friendly, then do some traveling and come home. As for stability you'll find no more than you have here.

This is from a retired AF troop that has been in 42 states and 13 different countries long enough to say I've lived there not simply visited.

Israel, but only for citizens and only after the mandatory service in the IDF. Switzerland lets you keep full auto at home. But only for citizens and only for those who serve in their militia. I don't think they allow CCW, though.

Wow, I saw a video on Israel and was blown away at how beautiful it is. Very modern, nothing like what I (and probably most) think of. Not sure if it's proper to say here, but I really, really like their president. He is (so it seems) calm and collective and reserved. And I do remember seeing a picture of a young woman with an AK strapped across her back and she looked dressed for a night out on the town ~ nothing unusual for them?! (bet she didn't get any bad pick-up lines, lol).

Thank you for bringing that up, I've always wanted to go visit there. Some of the religious groups take group trips there, maybe this would be a good way to check it out?!

Be aware that Israel is a socialist state, firearms are restricted to a greater degree than a lot of people think, and there is no Second Amendment. Firearm possession is subject to the whims of the government.

How do you know this to be 100% true? Not dissing you, I've just googled my heart out and never saw where Israel was a socialist country. I did look into Switzerland a couple of years ago and it cost aprox $10,000. a month to live there!

@ OldVet, how can we avoid the worst? We see post each day about laws chipping away at our right to carry and laws in general (the constitution) being smashed with the signature of a pen. Do you really feel for sure that your right to carry will never be taken away?

Doubtful. Carrying a gun is something many of us citizens can do here in the US, but just ain't gonna happen living overseas. We just came home from 3 weeks in Europe, and while I really do love it over there, if I want to exercise my right to keep and bear arms that will only happen in the USA!

I have not ever left the continental United States, well maybe several feet into the Gulf of Mexico if you want to count that. Israel is one place that popped into my mind as possibly gun friendly but then I remembered the location and that they are possibly even more hated by Islamics than Americans. I can't think of any good reason to even fly over that region of the world let alone set foot in it. I struggle to think of any other country I'd like to visit, call me an isolationist. Maybe there is another part of the US that would meet your needs.

I don't see out rights as being chipped away each day, primarily only attempts to do so. No I don't but we have it where most others don't. It's a matter of fighting the good fight right here rather than trying to change what exists (or doesn't exist) elsewhere. Those who haven't traveled widely don't realize that many other countries, outside of the travel brochures, are military/dictatorship controlled and the people have little--if any--voice in what goes on. Once one travels outside of the "resort" areas, the real 3rd-world existence kicks in. We'd all like to have that Tiki Hut in Fiji (no firearms there), but in reality that world doesn't exist except to the rich and powerful--neither of which I am.

I think the best foreign country for you to move to, that is friendly to you and your guns, is Texas.

So it differs from the United States in that there is no Second Amendment.

You know, I did think about Texas...being one of the 57 States and all .

The weather in Texas is more than my family will go for. I'm trying to appease my older parents, with me no longer married it's just the three of us and I try to care for them but they do pretty well so far. The weather you get in Texas goes from tornados, to heat in excess of 100, snow and hurricanes. All we have grown up with is hurricanes here in the Carolinas.

The flip side, after visiting Dallas I loved your state. I am not leaving the parents here to defend for themselves, but we must move before the hospitals kill us. I don't care what anybody tells ya, unless you go to MUSC in Charleston, the hospitals in coastal SC are horrible. Doctors come to Myrtle Beach to play golf, not to help the sick. I'm an only child thanks to the hospital near North Myrtle Beach, SC

Have talked with many @ militia sites from Texas and love those folks. Most former military.

So yeah, Texas would be grand but it's not in the running.

OldVet is pretty spot on. Take trip or two first before deciding. And then on those trips, travel outside the bounds of tourism and attractions. Hell, even going to Oahu or one of the other islands. Very little of the island is the lush, exotic million dollars homes always portrayed in movies and shows. I'd say 85% of it is swamp cooler ran, 3.5 feet off the ground due to rain and flooding and pretty run down.

The wife and I are kinda in the same boat though as the OP. We've been looking into traveling and one of the biggest desires is Spain (my homeland) and New Zealand. I unfortunately had to inform the wife though that if I can't travel comfortably with a firearm or equivalent weapon of self defense, chances are we won't go. Traveling the world is not as safe as it once was. Traveling the world as an American and a service member is even worse...
