Utah is pretty good on the turnaround time if you filled it out properly. If you included a DD-214 or (assuming you did) a Utah instructor's certificated, should be less than 45 days. Usually much less than that.

The nice thing is that you can call them (give it two weeks) and request a status. They are very nice and helpful.

They are way behind. Expect to wait the full 60 days, if not more. We received information from them recently stating that an additional 3 weeks may even be required.

Ours were issued ten weeks after we mailed them, then it took another six calender days to reach us, so yeah figure 70-76 days.

Still faster than rural Oregon where we are on week 18 of our 20 week wait for an appointment with the Sheriffs office! Then they say their 60 day clock starts, but it should only be another 4-6 weeks after prints are taken.

We here in Utah are happy to help , On the other hand government employees, not so much. *&%$# bureaucracy, sigh, there is no escaping it.

Mailed non-resident application to Utah April 19, received permit on July 19, so currently about 3 months.

Way back in 1986 when I got my very first WA state CC permit it took 6 weeks. The last time I renewed (about a year ago) I was told they would initiate another BG check so it took about 7 days. I pretty much stayed home the entire time.

I sent my Utah in on 06-24-13 and still have not received it back .

The funny thing about Utah , Our instructor told us to color and draw on the outside envolope to make it stand out and they would pull them first and read . This would get them to the front of the line and entertain the state workers .

I got my Utah license (non-resident) last year. Seems to me it took at least two months to get it back. They did cash my check within the first week. good luck and remember patience is a virtue...except when you're waiting for you ccl to show up in the mail!

Mine was quick also - about 30 days. But that was over a year ago.

Make sure fingerprints are nice and clean. My Dad just got a notice (after a year) that his permit will be revoked if he doesn't get a fresh fingerprint card back to them. They said his weren't clear enough. I guess they're just getting around to getting them into the system?
