    Airport Carry

My mother is flying in tonight into Dayton International Airport.

Does anyone know how the law is in Ohio regarding CC into the lobby of an airport? And if its allowed, whether or not DIA allows it?

    Thanks!

Did a quick google search and found that in most states, you can carry a firearm in the common areas of airports.

    Example
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9

“The purpose of the law is not to prevent a future offense, but to punish the one actually committed” - Ayn Rand

I carry up to the point going into the Security Area. If I'm traveling I leave the gun at home.

    ???

HGL says no terminal (boarding area) and no airplane (actual aircraft)

Personally I translate that into lobby area prior to security and parking lot. If its that important, which I'm sure it is, I'd just call and ask. Tell them there is some inclarity (?) lol and that you would like clear cut determination for the area you would be in.

I'd wager that they come back and say your fine :)

Of course, Captain Rex Kramer doesn't NEED to carry a gun at the airport!

Check your local laws, they do differ but most allow carry on the "dirty" side of the security line.

Don't carry inside the terminal in Florida. Prohibited--"The inside of the passenger terminal and sterile area of any airport,..."

The red zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the white zone.

Ohio does not allow carry anywhere inside the terminal, sterile area or not. You'll want to leave your gun in the car long-enough to go inside and get mom.

Or better yet, get stuck in traffic, get there 10 minutes late, and never have to set foot inside the building
