    Changing address on permits?

I'm moving, I need to change my address on my permits but even after a look at Handgunlaw.us and the respective states, I'm not sure how to do it. It's a small move, just across town, same zip code even.

Take the Utah non-resident, for example. How do I have the address changed on my permit? Fees are not a problem, but will they want a copy of my changed resident permit?

Can I still carry with a valid permit which has an old address on it?

Your best answer will be given by going to the state web site and looking there.

As a general rule, if your carry permit info doesn't match your ID then you'd best not carry until they do.

For example in less than a minute I found this though the link on the UTAH page at handgunlaw.us

...don't know what state you have, but in TX, you simply file a change of address within 30 days...your permit address does not have to match your Dr. Lic. address to be valid...

It's unfortunate that Utah's online address change requires Outlook Express. I'll have to mail it in.

If my address on my permit did not match my domicile I wouldn't CC until it did.

Florida makes it real easy...there is not an address on the newer permits. Your driver's license shows your address and determines whether your FL permit is resident or non-resident.

True, but I think you still have to notify the agency within 30 days.

When I changed mine I simply walked into my PD. If I were you I with the nonres permit I would contact that states state police and ask them how they would like you to handle it just to be on the safe side.

When I moved out of IL. I got settled in for a couple weeks and then called the Utah BCI at 801-965-4445.
(This number is located on the back of your CC card in the lower right corner).
Most helpful lady answered, asked for the CC# and verified the old address.
Then she asked for the new address and said "OK - so what else can I do for you today?"
The renewal form came to my correct address two years later and all is fine.

I follow your link, and on that page is an option to submit the info online. I click the option and Outlook Express wants to run. Nothing else happens.

No biggie, I can send it in.

That's because the link you clicked on is nothing but an email address and your browser is set to use outlook express for mail. Just copy the email address and use what ever email client you want.

That is if your referring to the page I posted.
