Submitted App..... now the wait.......
Well I submitted my CCW application today to the county clerk, went over to the Sheriff's dept. for the finger prints, but the finger print machine was broken. I was told by the clerk that Michigan "Must" use the electronic machine for the CCW finger prints, and that I would have to come back next week. She said, because of this delay, they may not get my prints back before the next gun board meeting at the end of the month, and I would most likely have to wait until January's meeting... Oh well, at least the ball is rolling....

.....you'll get it before you know it.
When you do....remember.....your first trip while wearing your CCW has to be to Walmart for some nachos.

I've read about the "trabditional" Wal-mart run... Awsome idea, but I'll have to settle for a sub sandwhich since my Wal-mart did away with their little cafe' area in favor of a Subway.
How did that whole Wal-mart thing get started?

I also went to my sheriff dept. and finished up the process for my permit today. I'm glad their fingerprint machine was in working order.
They told me it would be about 3 weeks for the permit to come, just in time for Christmas.
I too will have to settle for the sub sandwich on my walmart run.

It'll seem a long wait but time flies anyways so - soon be history. Mind you - I am often appalled at some state's delays!
WalMart is just our fun suggestion for folk's first outing with CCW - lotsa people everywhere - sheep mostly - but you have to mingle and not be adjusting all the time. A simple ''in at the deep end'' outing!
Natcho's are optional - and the Mickey D's or Sub - no probs - it's the end bit of the visit where you relax and enjoy your new status!

My first CPL took 6 months and a day the longest wait I could imagine!!!! it makes you feel like a criminal because your sure they turned you down but since then I've renewed and had the new one back in about 6 weeks and in Mi. if you renew 90 days be4 it expires they give you a temp till the new one comes per state law.

Congradulations, what county are you in. Some countys require you to go befor the Gun Board while others will just send you your CPL in the mial. Some are quick (2 weeks) others are about 6 weeks.

Trust Us...as per Linda ~ You Don't want to know how the "Wal~mart Thing" got started.
There are only a few shooters in the United States who know its exact origin.
We know you don't want to end up with radioactive polonium-210 in your system like the last guy that tried to crack the Wal~mart mystery.
