    PA conceal question

According to the handgun law website, the only places the state of Pennsylvania prohibits from CCing in is a courthouse and K-12 schools. So, you can conceal carry in a police station? Hospital? That doesn't seem right to me. And yet it isn't mentioned there. Can a well informed PA resident help me out?

Also, who could I call directly to ask these kinds of questions? Attorney General's office? Sheriff's office?

    Thanks for any info.

Allegheny General Hospital you will need to go through a metal detector at the EMERGENCY entrance.
There is security there and you can give them your PA LTC and your firearm and they will lock it up for you.
You will get both back (of course) when you leave. If you just have your firearm and not your PA LTC they will detain you & call the Police.

Don't go to Kennywood Park with even a tiny pocket knife. Everybody gets wanded going in & they will take whatever you have including OC Spray.

Some hospitals you can just go right in concealed.

    He's right.

The new UPMC East has metal detectors as well. Just assume that any new hospital built in Western PA has metal detectors and a security guard. I dated a nurse at Forbes and she said she seen many patients in the ER with guns holstered, as long as they had a license to carry they didn't call the police.

Now... About KennyWood... DO NOT TRY TO TAKE A POCKET KNIFE INTO KENNYWOOD! Gun goes without saying. I did take a ASP pepper spray keychain through the metal detectors, the employee took it off of me and asked me what it was and at that moment a cop abruptly said it was a pressure point baton and I said "No ma'am it is ASP pepper spray". It must have been my lucky day because they locked it up, gave me a ticket and told me I can get it when I leave. I was at least allowed to take my Quark 5sevens in. You can try to get in with something (like OC spray or a defensive tool) at Kennywood but either be prepared to give it to them for the day or be prepared to be detained, because once you pass those metal detectors THEY WILL NOT let you take it back to your vehicle.

PA also does not clarify very well whether or not you can carry in a bar. Places like TGI Fridays is ok even though they have a bar, but don't try to go down to a bar on Carson with your gun... Even with your license you will get detained.

Do not carry to events in Pittsburgh like the Rib Fest. I carried during the Regetta, there was no way for them to funnel everyone into one entrance to "wand" all attendees. So just be weary, some events in the city (even though outside) you will get patted down and dollars for donuts there will be a City cop there... Which is weird if you ask me because you can carry whatever you want into PNC Park but for most other events they'll pat you down.

I know of only one bar in the Strip District that is actually posted because I can see a sign posted outside when driving by the place.
I'm certain that others are but, I don't ever frequent bars.
I have gone out to eat at bar/restaurant combination establishments.
In PA. you may go into bars while carrying and you may consume alcohol while carrying.
No need for anybody to start yet another "don't mix" topic. I am only making a statement of fact that it is legal to do so.

I don't know if any of them carry or not.
